Today was a beautiful day in Oslo, so it was a perfect time take a stroll along the Oslo harbour. As you can see from the pictures, it is so cold outside that even when the sun is out, sheets of ice are still floating atop the water.
Docked along the harbour were the frigate KNM Roald Amundsen, one of the largest vessels in the Royal Norwegian Navy fleet, as well as smaller ships like KNM Alta and Trossschiff Speissart.
Looking out onto the dock is Akerhus castle and fortress (Akerhus slott og festning), built in the Middle Ages and mostly intact today.
It was really nice to get some fresh air while the sun is up (most Norwegians make the most out of any sun they get). Now I am going to read so that I can get through my list before the year ends!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂
